Donna is interested in her family's history and genealogy. She has traced her father's line, which descends from the 1682 English Quaker emigrant, Richard Haines and 300 years of unbroken Quaker heritage, which she has documented back to Emperor Charlemayne. She has done extensive research at the archives in England searching for Richard's parents, and published in 2017 a book with her findings: Who Was Richard Haines, the Quaker emigrant who died at sea in 1682?"
Her maternal line, which commenced in America when her grandfather, Johan Peder Mikalsen, left the farm Strømsnes on the island of Kjerringøy, Sørfold Parish, Nordland Fylke, Norway in Feb. 1901, goes back to the late 1500's in northern Norway. Donna has visited relatives in Norway and also spent some very fruitful hours doing family research at the Norway national archives in Hamar and in Trondheim.

I see you have completed a merge that was awaiting research. You may want to review Merging FAQs to understand your responsibilities in doing merges. Remember, after the merge you will want to clean up the text. During a merge, the text from the merged-away profile is simply appended onto the end of the text of the merged-into profile. You will want to integrate it into a single biography and a single sources section.
And before completing a merge, please check for any notes on each profile regarding the merge.
Thanks so much for helping improve Wikitree! If you have any questions, just let me know.

"Sources are critically important for genealogy. Some even say that genealogy without sources is mythology. Even if you're just a casual family historian recording modern family history, you will be helping future genealogists by listing where the information you've added came from."
Feel free to ask questions at our G2G forum. Also, our help pages menu, top right, has some very useful information.
Our Honor Code is why our community is such a friendly place to grow your family tree, so please take some time to read it. Want to join us? Check the volunteer box and leave a brief comment about your genealogical journey. Happy researching - Patt
