Biography

Ann Haden's place in this family and her descendants are thoroughly documented by the Blakey family in their published books. George Blakey's Bible Record lists Thomas Blakey's wife as Ann Haden, daughter of Anthony Haden, and gives her date of birth and the births of their children.

Ann was born in 1724 in the Colony of Virginia. She was the daughter of Anthony Haden and Margaret Douglas. On 12 Jan 1746 she married Thomas Blakey (1712 - 1777). They had ten known children. They remained in Virginia where she passed away at a date some time after 1765. It is assumed she was buried at a family homestead as was common at this time.

Many "family data collection" links on ancestry.com and even on some DAR/SAR applications is lists her death as 19 Jan 1791 in Buckingham, Virginia. Until an actual document is produced, this date should NOT be used.
