Biography
Leslie Hart Hadden was born in 1888. [1]
Married. In 1922, he married a war widow, Ellen Hannah Furnell (born Kitson), in Victoria.[2]
Leslie worked as a postman and, in 1937, was sentenced to six months' imprisonment for stealing a registered letter. [3] He served his time at Pentridge and was given six days special remission and freed on 8th January 1938. He did not offend again. [4]
Death. Leslie died by his own hand mid-January 1945, aged 56. His death was registered Prahran, Victoria, giving Williamstown as his birthplace. [5] An inquest was held on 1st February 1945. [6]
Burial. On 17th January 1945, his remains were buried in his mother's grave in the Williamstown cemetery (Church of England E, Row 12.5, Grave 3). Leslie's father is buried in the adjoining family plot, with two infants. [7]
