Biography

Agnes Hadden was born in July 1990 in Dunmore, Lackawanna, Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of James and Jeanette (Turnbull) Hadden.

She married Owen Franklin Simonson about 1915. Agnes and Owen resided in Dunmore and had one child, namely son Owen Franklin, Jr., b. Jan. 21, 1918. See Research Note #1.

Owen worked for the Pennsylvania Coal Company for most of his life; however, in the last ten years of his life, he worked in the freight department of the DL&W Railroad. Owen passed away in 1951.

Agnes passed away at age 76 at the Community Medical Center in Scranton, Pennsylvania on November 7, 1966. She was widowed at the time of her death.

Research Notes

1) Some family trees in another platform present a 2nd child, a daughter named Donna Mae; however, this person does not appear in any household of any year from 1920 on.

2) In 1930, 1940, and 1950 Federal Censuses, Agnes's mother, Jeannett was a member of Owen F. Simonson's household.
