1. Looking at the family tree listed under my name, I see that you have the father of John Michael Cromer listed as "
Johann George, Jerg (John Hans)". I'm curious as to the source of this information. I've been working with a German genealogist for a year trying to locate the home town and parents of John Michael Cromer.
2. I'm a new participant to WikiTree and I see you are listed as the "manager' of my information. Since I'm now a member of WikiTree, I'd like to mange my own information. Not sure how this is changed, but please let me know how we can make this happen
It's taken a few months, but I have completed entering information about the Cromer's of South Carolina (and the Cromer's of few other places, too). Again, thank you to Gregory Cromer for compiling the vast majority of Cromer information.
I recently adotpted the profile of William Gurley, one of the first settlers of Northampton, MA. I am entering information concerning William and his descendants from Albert E. Gurley's book "The History and Genealogy of the GURLEY FAMILY" published by the Press of the Case, Lockwood and Brainard Company, Hartford, Connecticut, 1897. I feel sure that my line of Gurley's in South Carolina are descendants of William Gurley, but I just can't make the connection...yet.
I am currently working on the Cromer family of South Carolina. (My grand father was Aubrey Meredith Cromer) Most of the Cromer information that I am adding to WikiTree is from research done by Gregory Cromer. Thank you Gregory!
I am not a professional genealogist by any means, but I have worked on my own family history for about 5 years. Hopefully I have learned some do's and don'ts to help others. And I still need help with my own. Maybe some of the research I have done can be of some value to others and I look forward to helping in any way possible. Thanks.
