Biography
Alexis Guay, child of Damian Guay and Louise [Arc .... Hac...?], married Elizabeth Garret on 3 October 1838 in Percé, Québec.[1]
Research notes
The last name of Alexis' mother is difficult to read. Her name might be Louise Archange [Guay?] Many Ancestry trees take her as Theotiste Castonguay which would make Alexis' parents Damien (Gai) Guay (1777-) and Marie Théotiste Gastongué (1792-) of Saint-Roch-des-Aulnaies. This is not impossible, but it seems doubtful. Saint-Roch-des-Aulnaies and Percé are about 140km distant, and in addition to the difference in mothers' names, nothing suggests Alexis' was born outside Percé.
