Biography

Dorothy (Groom) Wade is the descendant of a Huguenot emigrant.

Dorothy was born in February 1915 in Richmond, Victoria, Australia ^[1] to parents Nellie Clements and Herbert Leslie (Leslie) "Les" Groom. She is a descendant of the French Huguenots, through her maternal grandfather Walter Frederick Clements and his maternal line (via Ann Heudebourck).

Dorothy briefly lived with her family in Port Pirie, South Australia, before relocating permanently to Adelaide, South Australia during her childhood ^{[2] [3]}.

Dorothy's engagement to Arthur William Robert Wade, of Norwood, was announced in February 1936 ^[4]. They were married on 29 September 1938 at Burnside Christian Church ^[5].

Dorothy was widowed in 2008 when Arthur passed away aged 94 ^[6]. She passed away at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in September 2012, aged 97 ^[7].
