Biography

Calogero is born and baptized on 3 October 1841 in Corleone, named after his maternal grandfather. He is the son of Martino Grizzaffi and Maria Mancuso. His godparents are Salvatore Bianchino and Maria Rosa Crapa, a married couple.^[1]

His father Martino dies, reportedly at age 51 (he is 54), on 24 December 1861. Calogero is twenty.

Calogero marries at least twice, first at age 36 to Caterina Lombardo, the daughter of unknown parents, and the widow of Paolino di Mattia, on 3 February 1877.^[2] Calogero's father has died by this time.

No evidence of children of this marriage has been found.

Caterina dies at age 67 (b. 1835) on 7 May 1902. Calogero survives her.^[3]

Calogero remarries at age 61 to Antonina Mule', daughter of the late Biagio Mule' and the living Maria Morello, and widow of Giuseppe Patella, on 28 June 1902. His mother has died by this time.
