Thanks for your message indicating you agree with the WikiTRee philosophy and guidelines. I have found WikiTree to be an excellent tool for research and collaboration.
You are now a member of the WikiTree Community. Please note we are trying to build one Collaborative Tree which means one profile per person. It is important to ensure no duplicates are entered as you add Profiles to WikiTree. Once you entered your family members it is exciting to see other people finding your family profiles, asking questions, and expanding it.
My name is Ashley Miller. I'm very interested in family relationships and heritage and would love to help as much as possible. I'm no expert in genealogy, but I'm completely willing to abide by the rules and will definitely attempt to be as helpful, cooperative, and accurate as possible.
A warm welcome to WikiTree! The initial email from us has helpful links that will get you started on WikiTree, which is not like any genealogy site youve ever used and it is FREE. WikiTree is different because our goal is to have one profile per person, and that means we all work together as a BIG collaborative team!
Here are some other suggestions for you to explore:
1. Our Help pages have all sorts of useful information or you may explore the Family Tree & Tools tab at the top of your profile.
2. Our Honor Code is a very important part of why our community is such a friendly place to grow your family tree so please take some time to read it.
What brings you to WikiTree? Do you have research youd like to share? Are you interested in how your family fits into the big tree? When you confirm your email address, youll see a Volunteer option on your profile page. Click that and leave us a short message about your genealogical interests. A Greeters Project volunteer will be happy to confirm your membership, and youll be on your way!
More importantly, have fun growing your family tree and connecting to persons with the same interest.
Just checking in with a few quick tips:
Looking to make more connections or find more information about an ancestor but not sure how to do that? Try categorizing your profiles.
Not sure what to put into a biography? Here are some Bio Ideas. Also, make sure that the biographies match WikiTrees Styles and Standards.
If you come across an unresponsive manager, we have a process for those unfortunate situations.
If you have any questions, please ask!!
Dodie Bartlett, WikiTree Mentor
Thank you for signing the Honor code. Collaboration, accurate information and good sources are the basis for a great WikiTree.
By signing the Honor Code you're telling the Wiki community you are a responsible Wiki genealogist.
Feel free to ask me via my profile page if you have any questions.
Have a nice journey on Wikitree,
Guy - Wikitree Mentor / Leader
