Mr Griffin,

We are directly related to Richard Griffin (1734-1805). He is my 5th great grandfather.

I have a family tree DNA Big Y 700 kit and would like to talk with you more to try to find the SNP of Richard Griffin (1734-1805) and hopefully further upstream along the family line.

Please let me know if you would be interested in assisting.

Warmest Regards,

Your cousin Richard “Thomas” Griffin

Hello Mr. Griffin,

I am Marc Griffin, your fifth cousin three times removed. I was wondering if you would mind making a correction to your page on WikiTree at https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Griffin-3347

Your FTDNA Kit # for your Y-chromosome is incorrectly listed as Kit # 21958. It is missing the last digit, a zero.

It is correctly listed on your FTDNA Mitochrondrial DNA test as Kit # 219580.

If you go to the "Add" tab at the top right-hand corner of your page and click on "DNA Test Information" on the drop-down menu, then you could click on the "Edit" tab on the entry for "FTDNA Y-Chromosome" and add the missing zero to your kit number.

I truly appreciate your adding your DNA test results and family history to WikiTree.

Thank you.

Marc Griffin

Mr Griffin,

Thank you for adding and editing many of the profiles in the Slaughter family! When you do so, please remember to add sources to the bio! Also, to answer your question, once worked around the town of Slaughter, LA and begin working on the family that founded it out of curiosity! - Johnny

Congratulations on being Pre-1700 certified! Now it's time to pick a project that best fits the pre-1700 profiles you'll be working on.

Is there a particular time period, location, or topic you're interested in? Look at the list of active projects to see if one fits your needs.

Once you find a project that interests you, visit the project page for information and how to join. You can use the Following link to add the project tag to your profile, to receive on activity that occurs for that project.

Try a One Name Studies Project.

Can't decide, Let me know, and I can make some suggestions! :-)

Hi!

How's everything going? You might be finding duplicate profiles now. We have a Help Page to help you learn what to do with them. Be sure to check for your pending merges by going to FIND, PENDING MERGES, and sort for those waiting on you. Upon completing a merge, be sure to clean up/edit the Biography as ALL information from both profiles are copied and remove any duplicate info.

If you want updates on surnames you can add them by going to MY WIKITREE, NAV HOME PAGE, scroll down to just below WIKI GENEALOGY FEED to EDIT FOLLOWED SURNAMES. You can add up to 20.

Lastly, sometimes you'll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving those situations.

Hi Ike,

Thank you for joining WikiTree. As a WikiTree Mentor I am available to answer any questions or help solve any issues you may be having.

How To Use WikiTree is a good place to start. It is a step-by-step-guide to WikiTree basics. Our G2G Forum is searchable or you can post a question there. The Help Index is also an important place to find how to do most tasks.

It is very important that no duplicate profiles are created in WikiTree. Please read this page for clues on avoiding profile duplication.

Feel free to ask me via my profile page if you have any questions.
