Biography

Anne "Agnes" is the daughter of Sir Edward Grey of Enville, Staffs. and Joyce, daughter of Thomas Horde.

Marriage

She married Richard Mytton (Mitton), esq. of Halston, (b. c. 1501 - d. 26 Nov 1591, age 90). Their marriage settlement is dated 29 September 1517.

Death

Anne pre-deceased her husband. According to Crisp (1919), he married twice more and asserts that his second wife is Anne, daughter of Jenkin Pigott of Rhuddlan, Flint. Bindoff (1982), is uncertain about this second marriage, while Richardson (2011), seems to dismiss it.

In any case, his last wife is Eleanor (d. 30 Jan 1602/3, age 90), daughter of George Harborne, recorder of Shrewsbury, and widow of Richard Beeston of Shrewsbury. She adminstrated his estate on 10 Dec 1591.

Burial

Anne is believed to be buried in the churchyard of St. Mary's Church, Shrewsbury, Shorpshire (Salop), England

• Found a christening record for a Richard Mitton mother Ann but date is to late past Anne's childbearing age1567 and 1589.
• Also found a death record for a Richard Mitton (Child) for 1892 which would link to later christening date.
