Hi and thank you for being a member of the Jewish Roots Project! I wanted to let you know about some new things we have going on.
- You can see new tabs at the top of our home page, where you can select topics to view or work on. You can also use our new maintenance categories - feel free to add them to your own family, or any other Jewish Roots profile, or work on the maintenance yourself, such as adding new records to profiles with only a couple sources.-I'm sending an invitation to join GoogleGroups, which we are re-starting this week. We'll probably do most group chat there, but the most important things will be posted on G2G, which you will be notified about if you follow the jewish_roots tag.
Hi Cindy! We haven't heard back from you regarding your continued participation in the Scotland Project. I hope all is well and I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Hi Amy, sorry. I haven’t been online much. I have a class which keeps me extremely busy. I am still very interested in the Scotland Project. I have a whole bunch of new ancestors to add to my tree here.
Scotland Project Leaders check in with you at least once a year to see how you are doing. With the changes happening around the world, we understand that life is hectic right now.
What are you planning to work on for the Scotland Project this year? Are you happy with the team(s) you part of, or would you like to make some changes?
This time round, we’re also looking for feedback on the use of Google Group and Discord. Do you use one or both of these? If you don’t use either of them, what is the best way to ensure you receive Project communications? If you would like to join us on Google Group or Discord, let us know in your response.
My name is Vincent Revie and I am from the clan MacDonald. The MacDonald clan I am linked to originated in Ayrshire as far as I can tell and I still have family living in the area. I have had a DNA test carried out by Ancestry.com which surprisingly says I am only 10% scottish with the largest percentage (43%) originating in Ireland.
I also have DNA links with France, Greece and Albania !!!
I would love to find out more and if you could point me in the right direction, I would be very grateful.
I have MacDonald ancestors from two areas, Glencoe and one who married a Mclean from the Lochbuie area. Neither originated in Ayrshire that I am aware of. However, the Mcleans lived in Glasgow and Paisley for awhile.
There might be a connection to Ayrshire, but unfortunately my Glasgow MacDonald ancestor has been a brick wall. I am still researching her. If I find anything new, I will certainly let you know.
Hello Cindy, the England Project is changing the way that "Category:England Project" is used, from identifying England Project Members to a category for the England Project Free Space Pages and admin pages.
I would therefore be very grateful if you would remove "Category:England Project" from your personal profile. Please contact me if you have any questions about this.
As a member of the Scotland Project, we'd love to have you join the Twisted Thistles
in the upcoming Connect-a-thon the weekend of July 17 - July 20. If you'd like to join us and help to develop our ever-expanding Scottish tree, please register on the G2G post here
and be sure to mention you'd like to be on the Twisted Thistles team for Scotland.
My name is Sarah and I’m the Project Coordinator for the Scotland Project. As you may have heard, we have merged the Scottish Clans project into the Scotland Project. I am contacting you today to find out if you are interested in continuing with us under this new format. If you would like to go forward on the Scottish Clans Team, please reply and let me know which clans you have been working on or would like to work on. I look forward to hearing from you.
I am interested in continuing with the Scotland Project. The clans I have been working on are Campbell of Breadalbane, MacLean of Lochbuie, MacDonald of Glencoe. There are some other clans in my family tree that might have been septs but as of now I am not sure of their origin such as McAndrew.
I havent heard back from you about the United Kingdom Project breaking up into the individual country-level projects of England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland. I hope all is well with you. I assume you dont wish to join any of them at present, and will go ahead and remove the United Kingdom badge. If you wish to join England, Scotland, Wales or Ireland in the future, you would be most welcome to do so via the respective G2G sign-up post.
For some reason I completely missed this message. I haven’t checked my Wikitree in awhile or been active due to some health issues. I am still very interested in continuing with England, Scotland and Ireland.
We realise the time has come to dissolve the UK Project in favour of the individual country projects of England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland.
We are checking in with all UK badge holders to find out which country project(s) you would like to be in so you can collaborate with other members, have the opportunity to select which team(s) you would like to join, and so we can ensure you have all the correct badges.
Please respond by PM to let us know which country project(s) you would like to be in. Please dont assume we know. We are effectively starting from scratch to make sure no one falls through the cracks.
Once you have done this, the Coordinator for Membership in the relevant country project(s) will be in touch to help get you situated.
Please make sure to add pre-1500 to your followed tags. This will allow you to help others with Pre-1500 profiles and will make you aware of Pre-1500 badge challenges.

This profile has some minor errors that are raising database error messages, but we are not able to correct them as you have the profile locked.
Could you please either unlock it, correct the errors or add me to the trusted list and I'll correct them.

Now that you have had a little time to try WikiTree, there are a few features you may find useful.
Ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards .
If you need to describe an event, heirloom or a location relevant to your research, try Free Space Profiles .
If you run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving these unfortunate situations.
A project of note is the Global Family Reunion check it out at Global Family Reunion.
