Biography

Henry Green was part of a Southern Pioneer Family.

Henry Green was born in 1775 in Old Tryon Co North Carolina, the son of William Green and Drucillia (McBrayer) Green. He was the brother of Abraham Green, Joseph Green, Abner Green, McBrayer Green, Charlotte Green, William Green, James L. Green and Unicey Green.

Henry married Nancy Elizabeth Reeves on 1789 in Old Tryon, North Carolina they had the following children:

  4. Elijah Green,
  5. Leander L. Green,
  6. James M. Green,
  7. Mary Green,
  8. Thomas Elias Green, [1]
  9. Berryman Green,

According to an article written for the Boiling Springs Historical Awareness Committee by Virginia Green DePriest, Henry Green built the oldest home now standing in Boiling Springs, Cleveland (formerly Rutherford) County, NC in about 1797. The log home is currently owned by Forrest Hamrick and is on the east side of North Main Street.[2] Henry died about 1834 in Boiling Springs, Cleveland County, North Carolina.

William Marion Green was one of the largest land owners in Rutherford County NC. After a recent Query regarding a descendant there is 2 uncommon forennames that repeat and you will only find them either his immediate line, his sons or grand childrens line. They are:

  1. Unicy/Nicy
  2. Willis

Old Tryon became Rutherford Co. in 1779 [wikipedia]

So, shouldn't place of marriage and birth of children be changed to Rutherford? Cleveland Co not formed until 1841 so death should be Rutherford, nka Boiling Springs, Cleveland Co.?
