Biography

Malena Marie Celina Granger was born and baptized on April 29, 1844^[1], in Henryville, Quebec, Canada. She was the daughter of Charles Granger and Marie Mathieu. In the 1850 census Mary (age 9) was in Bourbonnais, Will, Illinois. ^[2] In the 1860 census Helena (age 16) was in Bourbonnais, Kankakee, Illinois. ^[3]

She married Joseph Cleophas Guimond on November 17, 1862^[4], in Kankakee, Illinois. They had 13 children in 24 years. In the 1870 census Melina (age 25), Keeping House, was in Sumner, Kankakee, Illinois. ^[5] In the 1900 census Malena (age 56) was the wife of C Guimond in Manteno, Kankakee, Illinois. ^[6] In the 1910 census Mallina (age 66) was the wife of Cleophas Guimond in Manteno, Kankakee, Illinois. ^[7] In the 1920 census Melina (age 75) was the widowed head of household in Manteno, Kankakee, Illinois. ^[8]

She died on March 1, 1920^[9], in Kankakee, Illinois, having lived a long life of 75 years, and was buried^[10] in Bourbonnais, Illinois.
