You are welcome to search the profile database and use the Genealogist to Genealogist (G2G) forum for research. For research help, probably the best way to find others searching for your family is the G2G forum. There you could create a new post to introduce yourself and tell others about your quest.
If you decide to add your family, you will only need to add those that are not already on WikiTree, and contribute to our shared tree, you will want to upgrade your account to Family Member (it is free). There is a link on your profile under your name, next to “Guest Member” or use this link to upgrade. Just answer the five questions and click on the green box that says "Upgrade”.
There are tools, known as apps or browser extensions, that can help you add information to the shared tree from other websites where you may have a tree.
Find out more about Membership levels here: Memberships
Hope that helps! Let me know if you have any further questions.
If you have any questions about WikiTree, just click the option to reply to this message and let me know how I can help.
