Edward was a farmer, and he owned $400 worth of real estate. Matilda (30) stayed at home with Ellen and three-year-old Thomas. Their other two children, Michael (8) and Margaret (6), were attending school. Twenty-six-year old John McGowan was also living with the Graham family. He was born in Ireland and was a farmer. He owned $200 worth of real estate. ^[1]
