Biography

Birth: Jan. 9, 1854 Death: Aug. 27, 1910

Died at his home on Maple Street, East Decatur, Ala, on the 27th of August, 1910, Mr. James W. Grady. Mr. Grady was taken sick Friday evening, August 26th, and died Saturday morning, the 27th, at 4 o'clock. His death came as a terrible shock to the entire community. He was a man whom everybody respected. He was honest, and kind to all. The poor and needy found in him a true help. He will be mourned by all. He leaves behind him a wife and one son.

The writer knew him well, and can truthfully say he never saw a grander man than James M. Grady, when it came to complying with the law; "Do good to all men." He is dead, but not forgotten. The fitful dream of life is over, Peace to his ashes, and in the morning of God's glory, may we meet again. - One Who Loved Him. NEW DECATUR ADVERTISER - September 1, 1910
