Hi Natalie. Sorry to say there is no visible red category anywhere on the profile!this was the orginal:
Sergeant Jerold Gossage served in the United States Army in World War II
Service started: 21 September 1942
Unit(s): Signal Corps, North Africa, Europe
Service ended: duration of war
I made what I think you suggested change was (too signal corps out of units and put it in unit:
Sergeant Jerold Gossage served in the United States Army in World War II
Service started: 21 September 1942
Unit(s): North Africa, Europe
Service ended: duration of war

But then Signal Corps was not showing, so I changed it back.

Where exactly are you seeing a "red" category at the bottom of the profile? I don't seen it in edit or out of edit. Mary

Found the red!

Actually, I would have put Dad's unit in, which would probably solve the problem, except that Veterans Affairs wanted to be obnoxious and jerk me around and not provide information about Dad's service. There's only some song and dance about records being destroyed in a fire. However, I know there are other records, because I was able to access some info online. I want Signal Corps to show, but if I put it where you suggest, it doesn't. Is there a way around that?

Hi Mary,

In the war sticker, there is a problem. Notice your red category at the bottom of the profile? So, please try this: in the unit= parameter, please replace what you have entered with Signal Corps. That should fix the red category problem. Thanks, Natalie, Categorization

And one more reply. Actually I was astounded to see that

|branch= did not have this choice: |branch=United States Army, Signal Corps which is where Signal Corps belongs

Signal Corps was a really big deal during WWII what with radar being, at the time, a new technology that was being used in combat Is there some way to create that parameter for Branch i.e. United States Army, Signal Corps?

This is a category for Signal Corps, which is why I asked you to change the template. Now this profile is included in that grouping of profiles of those who served in the Signal Corps.

I appreciate instructions on how to fix problems. But I'm also trying to find a "volunteer home" at wikitree where I can be useful because I know enough to do it right - and fix what is not up to standards! So telling me "why" makes a good difference <smile>Thank you.

Wondering where that Signal Corps category is on the sticker page. It, was not part of branch choices. (Maybe those were suggestions at the bottom of the sticker page rather than choices.)

O.k. last comment. Figured it out. Signal Corps must be in both |unit(s): and |unit: if it is to show, not ONLY |unit:

Then the RED goes away. Grateful for you pointing out the problem, Natalie. I would not have known where to look for it. Mary
