John Gosling and Mary Savery were married probably in Barbados sometime before 1681 when their son was born. Their son John was 19 when he chose Thomas Briant, his sister's husband, as his guardian on 23 Feb 1702/3. [actually, it appears to be his half-sister]
"1685 May 15. Gosling, John, of Burlington, intending to go to Barbados; will of. Wife, name not given; son John. Real and personal estate. Arthur Cooke, Robert Dimsdale and Francis Collins executors. Witnesses--Susanna Budd, Jo: Beere, Henry Grubb, Seth Smith. Proved February 12, 1685-6.
"1685-6 Jan. 19. Inventory of the estate £766.6.6, of which £100 stand for the plantation and £333 as due by..." a long list of creditors
"1685-6 Feb. 27. Bond of the executors named in the will.
1685 ___. Letters of administration on the estate granted to Arthur Cooke, Robert Dimsdale and Francis Collins
