Biography

Ellen was born in 1877^[1] in Sheffield, Yorkshire, England, where she lived with her parents, William and Clara, in 1881.^[2] The family lived in Ecclesall Bierlow, Yorkshire, in 1891.^[3]

Ellen married Tom Harlington in Goole, Yorkshire, in 1894.^[4][5] By 1901 the couple lived in Manchester, Lancashire, where Tom worked as a chemical labourer. Tom's nephews, Walter and Fred Thompson, lived with the family.^[6] They lived at 40 Nelson Street in Bradford, Manchester, in 1911.^[7]
