William Goldman was born on 12 Aug 1931 in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois, USA and was the son of Marion (Weil) and Clarence Goldman. [1]
He was perhaps best known as an Academy Award-winning screenwriter (for "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid" and "All the President's Men"). He also wrote novels, including "The Princess Bride" and "Marathon Man", both of which became acclaimed films. He claimed screenwriting credit for both films.
He passed away at the age of 87 on 16 Nov 2018 in New York City, New York, USA. [2]
