Roy Loren Godier was born 5 December 1924 in Prairie du Rocher, Randolph County, Illinois, USA. He was the son of William Albert Godier (1887-1932) and Mae Eugenia Laurent (1901-1956).

Roy married Lois Mae Franklin on 19 September 1953 in Cathedral City, California. Lois was the daughter of Ora Marshall Franklin (1907-1965) and Alice Anna Vlouegh (1909-????). Lois was born on 12 February 1928 in Spokane, Washington. They had no children of their own, but formally adopted two children: William Albert Pearl (1949) and Denise Orene Pearl (1951).

During his work career, Roy worked for the railroad, and for the U.S. Government doing Civil Service work at Cambria Air Force Radar Site in Cambria, California. He also worked for the Caterpillar Co. in Los Angeles, California.

Roy was a wanderer and liked to move around every five years. He and Lois lived in Covina CA, El Monte CA, Cambria CA, Kurtistown (Big Island) HI, Glide OR, Salmon Creek, WA, Lady Lake FL, Woodland WA, and Vancouver WA.

Roy lived to the ripe old age of 96.5, Lois is still living at the age of 93!
