The Late Private Reginald R. Gluyas.
It is with great regret we have to record the death of another hero whose name appears on our Honor Roll. Pte. Reginald Reseigh Gluyas, who died of wounds, was the only son of Mr. and Mrs. F. T. Gluyas, who left here two years ago after a residence of twenty years. Reg was well known and liked by everyone. After leaving the Edithburgh school he went to Stott & Hoare's Business College. At the time of their departure from here he was assisting in his father's business and afterwards entered the employ of the Farmers' Union. Private Gluyas was not quite 20 years of age and left Australia last December after a few months in camp. He was a member of the 50th Battalion and died at the 50th Casualty Clearing Station, France, on August 17. [4]
LATE PTE. R. GLUYAS.
Pte. Reginald R. Gluyas, 50th Battalion, A.I.F., died of gunshot wounds in France on August 17. He was born at Edithburgh, and spent the early years of his life in that town. He finished his education at Stott's College, Adelaide. Prior to enlisting he was employed as clerk at the S.A. Farmers' Union. He enlisted on July 23, 1917, and left Australia on December 24 of that year. He was in his twentieth year. Pte. Gluyas was a member of St. Augustine's Church, Unley, and was the only son of Mr. and Mrs. F. T. Gluyas, of North Unley. [5]
