Samuel Glover was born in 1839 in Milton Damerel, Devonshire, England. He was the son of William Glover and Elizabeth Mountjoy. [1]
In the 1851 census Samuel Glover (age 12) was in Malahide, Elgin, Canada West.[2]
In the 1861 census Samuel (age 22) was recorded as single in Southwold Township, Elgin, Canada West.[3]
In 1862, Samuel married Margaret Moore in Elgin, Rideau Lakes, Leeds and Grenville, Ontario, Canada. They both were living in Southwold at the time of the marriage.[4] They had two children,
Sadly, his wife Margaret died young at the age of 26 yrs. old in 1870. Their daughter Elizabeth went to live with her grandfather William Moore, while Maud stayed with her father Samuel.
In 1871 Samuel married Catherine Ordish in Port Huron, St. Clair, Michigan, United States.[5] They had seven children together:

In the 1891 census Samuel (age 51, labourer) was living with his wife Catherine (age 36), children: Maud (27), Jennie 919), Arthur (16), Bertha (15), Percy (11), Ora (9), and Agnes (7), in Port Stanley, Elgin East, Ontario, Canada.[7]
In the 1901 census Samuel (age 61) was the married head of household in Cardinal, Leeds and Grenville, Ontario, Canada.[8]
In the 1911 census Samuel was the married head of household in Elgin, Ontario, Canada.[9]
Samuel (age 72, coal merchant), passed away in 1912 in Port Stanley, Elgin, Ontario, Canada.[10] He is buried in Union United Church Cemetery in Union, Elgin County, Ontario, Canada. [11]
