Biography

Marie Girard was born in 1850 in Les Éboulements, Canada East, to Edouard Girard and Marie Josephte Tremblay and baptized Marie Thersille at the church of the Assumption.^[1]

In 1868 at the same church, Marie married Abel Bouchard, son of André Bouchard and Marie Louise Tremblay.^[2] By 1891, Marie and Abel had eight children.^[3] They would eventually have 10.

On the 1900 United States census, the reported migration date was 1891. They had settled in Fall River, Massachusetts, with most of their children. Abel was working in a yarn mill. Adult children also worked in mills.^[4]

Abel died in 1909. The 1910 census finds the widowed "Mary" living with two adult sons and her youngest daughter.^[5]

Marie died in Fall River in 1916, 66 years old.^[6]

En 1868 à la même église, Marie épousa Abel Bouchard, fille d'André Bouchard et de Marie Louise Tremblay.^[2] En 1891, Marie et Abel eurent huit enfants.^[3] Ils auraient finalement 10.

Cette année a aussi été l'année de leur migration aux États-Unis signalée sur le recensement de 1900. Ils s'étaient installés à Fall River, Massachusetts, avec la plupart de leurs enfants. Abel travaillait dans une filature. Les enfant de l'âge adulte travaillaient aussi dans des filatures.^[4]

Abel décéda en 1909. Le recensement de 1910 trouve « Mary », veuve, vivant avec deux fils adultes et sa plus jeune fille.^[5]

Marie décéda à Fall River en 1916 à l'âge de 66 ans.^[6]
