Biography

It has been said that Elizabeth Gilliam (1821-1869) was the daughter of John and Jerusha Morris Gilliam. However, Jerusha's estate records which include her children and the children of her deceased children do not mention an Elizabeth.

Jerusha Gilliam, widow of John Gilliam petitioned County Court for dower from the estate of John Gilliam, deceased. All of the distributees had been notified. Samuel C. Collins and James C. Hannah were appointed Commissioners and J.R. Dickey, Surveyor, to lay off the dower.
Heirs of John Gilliam besides widow were:
