She married John Loveridge on 20 July 1823 at St Mary's church in Netherbury.^[3]

Jane and her husband John, together with their seven children emigrated from England to New Zealand. They travelled on the ship Timandra, sailing from Plymouth in Devon, England, on 2 November 1841 and arriving in New Plymouth, New Zealand on 24 February 1842. ^[4][5]

Her husband, John passed away in 1857 in New Plymouth at the age of 59.

Jane was a widow for some thirty-seven years before she passed away on 7 November 1894 in New Plymouth age 98.

Jane was buried at St Mary's Anglican Churchyard, New Plymouth on 10 November 1894^[6][7]

Her estate was probated on 27 November 1894, her son William Loveridge (~1833 - 1923) being the executor and sole beneficiary.^[8]

Research Notes

Her obituary says that she was a native of Cornwall. But Lauren Thomson has found her being baptised in Netherbury, Dorset. Cornwall is a fair distance from Dorset - you have to go through Devon to get there - so suspect the obituary may be incorrect.
