Annie Brotherton, age 84, of Morristown, went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 18, 2021 at Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Andrew Brotherton; daughter, Deborah Ann Breeden; parents, Horace and Hattie Gilbert; brothers, Richard Gilbert, Oscar Gilbert, Charlie Gilbert, Frank Gilbert, and Horace Monroe Gilbert, Jr.; and sisters, Virginia Southerland and Viola Nolan. She is survived by her daughter, Kathy (Gary) Edwards; son, Michael (Dorothy) Brotherton; grandchildren, Tiffany (Stephen) Reid, Jordan (Shannon) Edwards, Elizabeth Brotherton, John Andrew Breeden, and David Michael (Kristi) Breeden; great-grandchildren, Andrew Conner Edwards, Callie Ann Edwards, Barrett Lee Edwards, Brianna Iris Brotherton, Lydia Breeden, and Libby Breeden; and several nieces and nephews. Our family wants to thank each person that touched mom's life and cared for her during her time at Heritage. Mom told us that God was going to use her to minister to her caregivers and share her faith in God with everyone. She referred to her caregivers as her adopted children. She loved them and they loved her. A registry book will be available to sign at the funeral home. Private immediate family graveside services will be at 4 p.m. Thursday, January 21st at Holt’s Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Stephen Reid officiating. Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
