At Mt Morgan
There was a good attendance at the
Mount Morgan Salvation Army Hall on
Monday night to witness an enjoyable
concert given by members oí the Army
Band, under the leadership of Mr J.
Gilbar, who bas been bandmaster for
the past 26 years. Local artists as-
sisted. The proceeds of the concert
will be devoted to band funds and Red
Shield work.
Mr L. A. Westcott (general manager
of Mt Morgan Ltd.) presided over the
gathering. In his opening remarks, Mr
Westcott said he had always had a
kindly feeling towards the Salvation
Army. The Army was doing a great
work, as in the last war.
A short Bible reading was given by
Sergeant Major D. Young.
In addition to the band the following
artists contributed to a well-balanced
programme: Mesdames Moller, T. Comes, ]
L. Kane, J. Westlake, Messrs H. Weir,
J. Gilbar, E. Moore, J. Sullivan, A. Mar-
tin, and Clanfield.
Captain Brown moved a vote of
thanks to the chairman, artists, and
public, and the Benediction was pro-
nounced by Adjutant Davies (Rock-
hampton).
