Frank Giffin was born in 1864, the son of William and Adelia Hayden Giffin of Osborne Harbour[1]
In 1891, he married Jane Freeman, daughter of John and Margaret Ann (GIffin) Freeman[2] and had a daughter Jane (who married Rev James Jordan of Calgary and died in 1970, they had a son and 2 daughters)
After Jane died he married Jane Finlay[3] and was living in Edgartown, Mass in January 1907

Captain "Frank Giffin", born 1864, died in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. He went to sea and sailed as Captain of foreign voyages. He married "Jane M. Freeman" on October 28, 1891, in Osborne, Shelburne County, Nova Scotia. She died August 24, 1892, in childbirth or shortly thereafter (note, the birth of their daughter "Jane Freeman Giffin"). He gave up the sea after her death. He married (2) "Jane Finlay" a few months prior to January 1907. They were living in Edgartown, Massachusetts, in January, 1907.
