According to E. Bellasis, the Lancaster Herald, Mary Ann Gibson was the daughter, and heiress, of Christopher Gibson of Edenhall. ^[1]

Mary was born in Eden Hall, Cumberland, England, in 1706, to parents Christopher Machell and  ?, and she was christened on the 28th June 1706, at Lowther, Westmorland, England. ^[2]

Mary married Richard Machell on the 13th August 1732, in St Clement Danes, Middlesex, England. ^{[3] [4]}
