Dabney Gholston was Killed in Action during the United States Civil War.

Dabney was born in 1829. He was the son of John Gholston and Elizabeth Williford. He passed away in 1864.

He was killed in The Battle of Jonesborough which was the final battle of the Atlanta Campaign, and caused Atlanta to fall into Union hands.

Epilogue of Leonard C. Barnett, a Georgia soldier who lost his life near Danville[1] Capt. Gholston, a 35-year-old school teacher, was killed in action on the Aug. 31, 1864, in Jonesboro where many soldiers were killed. At the railroad site, hundreds of men were buried in a mass grave
