Dabney Gholston served in the United States Civil War. Enlisted: 1862 Mustered out: Aug 31, 1864 (KIA) Side: CSA Regiment(s): 9th Georgia Infantry, US Civil War
Dabney Gholston was Killed in Action during the United States Civil War.
He was killed in The Battle of Jonesborough which was the final battle of the Atlanta Campaign, and caused Atlanta to fall into Union hands.

Capt. Gholston, a 35-year-old school teacher, was killed in action on the Aug. 31, 1864, in Jonesboro where many soldiers were killed. At the railroad site, hundreds of men were buried in a mass grave
