Biography

Griet (Jan 4 1665), Gerrit (Aug 8 1666), Crelisje (1770), Trijn (1775).

These are the most likely parents for Trijn, based on the Venhuizen birth records of 1656 – 1667. It seems the records from 1668 through 1732 are lost. There were 11 men named Harcke having children in Venhuizen in the available years – in other words, quite a few! These people make the most sense based on years children were born and names of the children both of Trijn and Crelisje.

Harcke Gerrits was chosen as elder of the Venhuizen Reformed Church in 1683.

There were several Gerrits on the Venhuizen Reformed Church membership records of 1660. The names of their wives don't match the names of our Harke's children and grandchildren. On March 6 1660 there seems to have been a Gerrit Harckes who was chosen as an elder of the church, but the names in that document were very hard to read and I could be wrong.

There were at least 2 girls named Trijn Harckes born in the available years, but they were born too early to be our Trijn.

They made profession of faith together on Sept 21, 1664.^[1]
