Biography

Reijnder Gerritsz married 1 Marij. We get Marij's name from the names of Reijnder's son Jacob's children. Children: Jacob, Jan, Tetje, Jantje. They must have been baptized in Grootebroek. They lived in Broekoort.

Reijnder Gerritsz married 2 Trijn Dircks. Children from a former marriage: Dirk Dirksz. The only record I could find that might be her first husband is Dirk Jacobsz & Trijn Dirks: daughter Dieuwer (Sept 29 1641) in Wervershoof. Perhaps they had other children baptized in Grootebroek.

Reijnder was from Stedum (apparently the the Grootebroek area - he was probably working here) and Trijn from Broeckoort. They apparently had no children in Wervershoof. They appear again in 1667 on the Buurtjeskerk charter membership list as Reiner Gerritsen de Vries and Trijn Dircks. Reiner's death date is also listed there, probably the earliest precise death date we have for someone in Andijk.

Reijnder's will lists 4 children and 1 step-child. Another court document says he was a baas dijker (someone in charge of a group of men taking care of the dikes in the area). He lived in Boekoord.
