Biography

Edwin Purple wrote of Huybert Gerritszen (Van den Berg) that "He was probably a brother of Barent Gerritse Van den Berg of the Manor of Rensselaerswyck, in 1687, and perhaps the son of Gerrit Van den Bergh, of Albany, 1663." [1]

Huybert Gerritsz (Vandenbergh) was married to Maria Lansing in the Reformed Dutch Church of Albany, New York, on 20 December 1693.[2] Their daughter Lysbeth was baptized in Albany in 1694.[3]

Van Den Berg-1927 and Gerritsz-29 appear to represent the same person because: same individual. Last name should be Gerritsz
Same individual. Both married to same individual. Dates match.
Records of his marriage and the birth of his first child show his last name as a patronymic (e.g., Gerritsz). Accordingly, it appears to me that his LNAB should be Gerritsz, and Van den Berg (or Van den Bergh) should be his Current Last Name.
