Biography

Laurent Germain est né le 17 novembre 1759, baptisé le 18 à L'Assomption, fils de Jacques Germain dit Leroux Desneval (sic), écuyer, et de Catherine Vallée, son parrain a été Gabriel Laberge, sa marraine Magdeleine Jourdain, femme dudit Gabriel Laberge.^[1] (erreur cléricale évidente)

Marriage
Esther Loiselle, whose parents were both deceased, married Laurent Leroux, son of the late Germain Leroux and of Catherine Valé, on 20 June 1796 in L'Assomption, there was notice of consanguinity du deux au troisième degrés (first cousins once removed, Laurent's mother was maternal aunt to Esther's mother)^[3]

Only 1 child from the marriage, Marie Angélique Leroux, born & bapt 22 Feb 1797 in L'Assomption^[4] Marie Desanges Denval dite Leroux on her marriage to Jean Moïse Raymond, widower of Marie Archange Denaut, on 5 Jun 1815 in L'Assomption.^[5]

Laurent is noted as being a trader (négociant) of the parish of L'Assomption on his wife Esther Loisel's death record in 1848, although he does not sign that record (which he is known to be able to do). ^[2]

Death
Laurent Leroux died on 26 May 1855, funeral on the 29th in L'Assomption, the record giving him 95 years and six months of age, widower of Marie Esther Loiselle. He was buried in the church.^[6]
