Hi

We haven’t heard back from you concerning the Scottish Clans Transition. If you are still interested and we haven’t received a response from you by 24 March 2020, you will be welcome to rejoin by answering the current g2g thread for joining the Scotland Project.

Sincerely,

Hello

My name is Amy and I’m a co-Leader of the Scotland Project. As you may have heard, we have merged the Scottish Clans project into the Scotland Project. I am contacting you today to find out if you are interested in continuing with us under this new format. If you would like to go forward on the Scottish Clans Team, please reply and let me know which clans you have been working on or would like to work on. I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely, Amy Gilpin

Hi Wayne,

I haven’t heard back from you about the break up of the United Kingdom Project. I hope all is well with you. I assume you don’t wish to join any of the country-level projects at present, and will go ahead and remove the United Kingdom badge. If you wish to join England, Scotland, Wales or Ireland in the future, you would be most welcome to do so via the respective G2G sign-up post.

Many thanks for all your contributions,

Susie :-)

Hi Wayne,

We realise the time has come to dissolve the UK Project in favour of the individual country projects of England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland.

We are checking in with all UK badge holders to find out which country project(s) you would like to be in so you can collaborate with other members, have the opportunity to select which team(s) you would like to join, and so we can ensure you have all the correct badges.

Please respond by PM to let us know which country project(s) you would like to be in. Please don’t assume we know. We are effectively starting from scratch to make sure no one falls through the cracks.

Once you have done this, the Coordinator for Membership in the relevant country project(s) will be in touch to help get you situated.

Many thanks,

Susie

Hi, Wayne. I noticed that you have used a unique way of formatting reference citations. You may have noticed that some of your citations generate red links that point to error messages or unexpected pages like the MatchBot profile. WikiTree uses wiki-code format, and most other coding methods don't work here. I edited -Swaddock-2 and her husband's profile to fix the red links, but noticed I red links on other profiles. You may find it helpful to review Help: Editing Tips and Help: Sources for advice on effective formatting using wiki-code.

Hi Wayne,

I’m Susie the new leader of the England Project. We are contacting all existing members of the project to find out how you are currently involved, and how you would like to be involved moving forward. Please have a look at the England Project page for more information, and then contact either myself or Gillian to let us know what you’d like to do, or if you have any questions. We can then list your interests, help you join the team in the Google group forum for England, and give you any help you might need to get going. If we don’t hear back from you we’ll assume you no longer want to be a part of the England Project at this time.

Many thanks and I look forward to hearing from you,

Susie :-)

Hi Wayne,

Now that you have had a little time to try WikiTree, there are a few more features you may find useful.

Ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards, including some tips on writing biographies.

If you need to describe an event, an heirloom or a location relevant to your research, you may like to learn about Free Space Profiles.

Lastly, sometimes you'll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving those unfortunate situations.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask via my profile page.

Hi Wayne , Thanks for your message. Excellent and welcome! I've added the project badge to your profile. If you click on the badge it will take you to the full list of our wonderful members. Click on Scottish Clans Project will take you the first page of the project. You'll also find info on how to join the project google group. I'll let you explore and catch up with you later. Feel free to add anything to the clan pages or to sponsor any clan which interests you.

Thanks again for joining and enjoy. Maria

I noticed you are GEDCOM equipped. That's awesome. Our GEDCOM process is a bit different than what might be used to on other sites. We have some great help pages to make your experience go more smoothly:

Upload vs Import What is GEDCompare Before Importing a GEDCOM After importing a GEDCOM If you have any questions about your GEDCOM or our process, you can contact our GEDCOM Manager for assistance. Thanks!

You are now a confirmed member of WikiTree! Thank you for volunteering.

Have fun and ask for help if you need it! WikiTree members are always eager to offer guidance to a fellow genealogist.

If you need additional help, our Mentors Project is a friendly bunch of volunteers who will be glad to assist you with WikiTree-specific problems.

See you in the branches -- Marshall

Hi Wayne,

Welcome to WikiTree! The initial email from us has helpful links that will get you started on WikiTree, which is not like any genealogy site you’ve ever used.

WikiTree is different because our goal is to have one profile per person, and that means we all work together as a BIG collaborative team!

Once you volunteer, one of our Greeters will be happy to confirm your membership, and you’ll be on your way!

Welcome to the family! We’re really glad you’re here.
