Biography

Domicile, the daughter of Jean Baptiste Gendron and Catherine Gendron was born and baptized 30 April 1823 in Châteauguay, Bas-Canada.[1]

On 10 January 1842, she married Jacques Tranquille. The Saint Joachim parish register does not identify Jacques Tranquille's parents, stating only that the marriage was between "Jacques Tranquille, majeur, de cette paroisse d'une part, et Domitile Gendron mineure, fille de Jean Baptiste Gendron journalier & de Catherine Gendron; . . . en présence de Pierre David et Michel Allard & plusieurs autres."[2]

Domitille died 25 February 1861 and was buried 27 February in Châteauguay, as stated in the Saint Joachim parish register: Domithilde, "épouse de Jacques Tranquille, décédée avant hier âgée de trente six ans de cette paroisse."[3]
