Biography
Ephraim, the son of David Bruno Gendron and Emilie Girard was born and baptized 5 May 1855 in Yamaska, Bas-Canada, according to the Saint Michel parish register: "Ephrem né le meme jour du légitime mariage de Bruno Gendron cordonnier en cette paroisse, et de Emilie Girard. Parrain Louis Girard, marraine Marcelline Beau". [1]
He married Nathalie Dumas around 1873, given that by the time of the 1910 census they had been married 37 years.[2] Ephraim's petition for naturalization states that he emigrated to the United States 4 April 1866.[3] Given that some of their children were born in Canada and some in Rhode Island, the couple may have moved back and forth. The 1910 census also states that Nathalie had given birth to 14 children, 10 of whom were still alive. Children for whom there are records include:

The 1915 Rhode Island census shows the couple living with two daughters, Argentine (23) and Clara (17), and Ephraim working as a farm laborer. [4]
Ephraim passed away 30 August 1918 in Providence, Rhode Island.[5] He was buried in Saint Joseph's Cemetery, West Warwick.[6]
