Regarding your comment "I'm pretty sure it's against policy to make a profile of someone you're not related to and just add it on to someone else's tree." It is not against policy, we are a collaborative group, which means, we all work together on a common tree.

Hi. I am a Native Fort Worthian and I am also part of the Texas One Place Studies. I did a little editing and I hope you don't you mind. Mainly, I linked all the places in the history and geography to categories and or free space pages on Wiki Tree. I moved Land Grants under History and Census under Demographics. I would suggest deleting the Cities and Towns from Wiki Tree Profiles (since I already linked them under demographics) and using the Wiki Tree Profiles to list Wiki Tree "Notables" and other Wiki Tree Profiles of People. I also added Corporal Charles Frank Pendleton, MOH recipient of Korea under Notable. In Fort Worth, during World War I, Camp Bowie was established this is where the 36th Infantry trained. There is Camp Bowie Blvd. in Fort Worth.

I found the list of other things and posted it on all of the counties. Online start with Family Search.org There will not be any after 1940!! They want all of us to be dead before they release the next census.

--Pictures , you might upload your best photos, then find a couple of wikimedia commons. Also check out San Patricio county. Leader, Alison finished it, I think... Tomorrow I will concentrate on your history that you wrote. Thanks for the update.

Michael if you feel interested in helping with Texas, thus learning how to find the sources and develop a page. You let me know for sure, then send to me your email address to post your name as profile manager. And I will notify Alison to award you a badge. you might send the email on a private message to me, Mary Richardson

so that your email is not compromised.

I noticed you have ~500 ancestors in your contributions, thus I am sure you are familiar with searching everywhere. And you do not have to have family in the area, just willing to research. I usually start by googling the topic... more later ~~mary

Hi Michael,

I'd like to invite you to join in our "Weekend Chat", a popular G2G post where many of the members visit and share in a variety of topics.

New people say "Hello" and introduce themselves, Leaders and Mentors give tips and answer questions, and regulars share updates on their latest projects and victories... anything they wish to chat about. I most enjoy stories of famous or nefarious ancestors.

We'd love to hear from you, stop in when you're able!

Hi

Thank you for joining WikiTree. As a WikiTree Mentor I am available to answer any questions or help solve any issues you may be having.

How To Use WikiTree is a good starting point and the Help Index is an important place to find out how to do most tasks.

Do you have Royal Ancestors? They are already here on Wikitree! Rather than create duplicate profiles for them, please contact the EuroAristo Project to discuss connecting your family line to their profiles.

Michael, that is great that you want to keep some original history about your hometown ( My daughter loves Austin !).

You could also do a Free Space about the neighborhood and upload pictures and stories about it . Up above, on the menu , ADD, slide down to new thing. That just creates a page with no family tree. It does take time to learn the Wiki . Good luck !
