He died at his home of heart disease on Friday, 9 Nov 1877. He was born in Newberry Co., S. C. and married Frances Elizabeth Dooley Gary on 10 Feb 1826. He arose to a prominent position, being one of the most influential citizens of our county. He resided and died in the same home where his marriage took place.
