Biography

James Galbraith, 7th Laird of Culcreuch and 13th Chief of Clan Galbraith. He was the son of Andrew Galbraith and Agnes Cunningham. James was probably born around 1465/70. He married Agnes Colquhoun. James died in 1528, in or after,

In 1490, James rebelled with his brother, Thomas, but James escaped and had restored to him his brother's forfeited estates (which as well as the lands of Bannachra, Colcreuch, Millig and the feudal Barony of Over Johnstone comprised Calyegat, Culyownane and Thomdarroch). Thomas was hanged for the rebellion.

2. Humphrey Galbraith c 1495 He was at Glasgow University in 1513. He appears to have been guilty of the slaughter of William Stirling of Glorat in 1534. He is called "Tutor of Culcreuch."
3. Walter Galbraith c1493 - c1545
4. Robert Galbraith 1507-1593 married Janet Seyton, c 1548, said to be the ancestor of Galbraith of Balgair.
5. Janet Galbraith had a charter from Humphrey Colquhoun of Luss in 1536 of the lands of Garshake.
