He was the son of Charles Gagnon, farmer, and Lumina Gagnon of this parish. Sponsors for Henri's baptism were his uncle Frédéric Gagnon and Virginie Bérubé; neither sponsor signed the register.
At age 21 Henri, a farmer, married Eugenie Gagnon on 8 Jan 1908 in Saint-Fabien parish in Rimouski, Québec, Canada. The couple received dispensations for two banns of marriage, and for the second and third degree of consanguinity. There were four known children born into this marriage.
Henri Gagnon died at age 65 on 1 Mar 1952; he was buried in Rivière-Ouelle cemetery.
