Biography

Albert was born in the Village of Chrysler, District of Finch, County of Stormont, Ontario, Canada on June 2, 1880, the son of Ludger Gagnon and Jessie Lepage. While the given name appearing on his birth certificate is Joseph, he was known as Albert through his lifetime, the name which also appears on family documents, Census reports and his tombstone. On June 20, 1904, he married Corrine Potvin in Hull, Quebec, a neighbouring municipality of Ottawa. Two years later, he died at the age of 25 and is buried in Notre Dame Cemetery in Ottawa with his parents and his sister, Alexina Gagnon Nolan. Corrine died at age 42 on February 14, 1925 and is buried with her family in the Notre Dame de Grace Parish Cemetery in Hull, Quebec.
