Biography

Leonarda Gagliano is born around 1742 in Corleone, the daughter of Giuseppe Gagliano and Giovanna Madonia. She is named after her paternal grandmother.

Leonarda marries Antonino di Puma, son of the late Santo and the living Cosima di Puma, on 15 January 1758. By this time, her parents have both died.^[1]

Leonarda and Antonino have at least two children, Santo (c. 1760) and Anna (1769).

Santo is named after his paternal grandfather, so I have estimated he is born around 1760, a couple years after his parents marry.

Anna is born 17 October 1769 and baptized the next day. Her godparents are Fortunato and Liboria Messina, a married couple.^[2]

Santo marries at least twice, first to Leonarda Trumbatori. He remarries, to Bernarda Guadagna, on 12 January 1796. His father has died by this time.^[3]

Leonarda dies at age 60 (b. 1742) on 27 January 1803, the widow of Antonio.^[4]
