Biography

Caterina was born before 1696 ^[1] to Francesco Gagliano and Francesca Giacone ^[2]. Her first marriage was in 1712 to Andrea Lipari ^[3] by whom she had several children. She was widowed and remarried in 1732 to Santo Bilello ^[4]; she and Santo had several children. She died between November 1735 and October 1766 ^[5].

Research Notes

The 1753 marriage record for (probable) daughter Maria Bilello names her as Maria Gagliano rather than Caterina Gagliano. This is probably an error, rather than an indication of a different family because the name of her husband, Santo Bilello, is not common. It would be a rare coincidence for 2 Santo Bilello's, each married to a Gagliano, of the same age, to exist.
