Hi Helen,

I'm contacting you for the annual ANZACS Project membership checkin. We really appreciate your involvement in the Project in the last year. Thank you so much for all your help to improve profiles of ANZACs on WikiTree.

Please could you reply to this profile comment, or send me a private message to let me know if you'd like to stay on in the Project, and if so, what ANZACs activity you're planning to work on over the coming year. There are some ideas for activities on this page - Project:Anzacs. You could also add or update your entry on the 'Project Members and what we are doing' heading on that page.

If you've moved on to other things for the moment, that's absolutely fine. We'd appreciate if you'd let us know so that we can remove you as a member of the Project.

The ANZACs Project is a sub-project of the Military and War Project, which has a channel on Discord. If you're not on Discord yet, here's some information - Help:Discord. It's a great way to communicate with other members of the Project and help each other out.

We're always happy to receive any ideas or suggestions that you have to make our project even better.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Gillian ~ ANZACS Project Leader

Hi Helen,

Thank you for replying to the checkin for the Anzac Project (subproject of Military and War). I am marking you as want to be active.

This is the ANZAC Project page https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Project:Anzacs

Here are some suggestions for being active. 1) Write biographies for Australians who were in either WW I (Gallipoli), WW II or in Vietnam. The project page even outlines the units they served. 2) Add sources to other biographies of ANZACS 3) Add ANZAC stickers to profiles 4) Space pages for ANZAC activity such as a battle you want to write about.

Contact the leaders if you have some other idea. Gillian Thomas and Susan McNamee are the leaders

On behalf of the leader of the Military and War Project, I am doing the six month check-in with Anzac members.. Have you been active in the Anzacs project in the last six months? Please note that it is a requirement for membership in the Military and War Project that you respond to these check-ins. To make bookkeeping easier, just click Reply to this message on your own page, add your reply, then Post the Reply. I look forward to hearing from you..

Many thanks,

Hi Mary,

This is the first time I have had anyone contact me since I joined the project. And no, I have not been active in it. Point me in the right direction if I am meant to be helping in some way. Regards, Helen

Hello, my name is Brettle and I think it is possible that Alfred Brettle is a common ancestor of ours as I have information on Brettles emigrating to Australia in 1922. I have created a Google Site which his information about Brettles, Brettells and their connection to the Black Country in the UK. You can access this site at https://sites.google.com/view/brettle-family-history/the-black-country. Contact me if you want more information.

Hi!

One or more photos you recently uploaded is a nominee to be our current Family History Photo of the Week. We'll feature the winner on the main WikiTree home page all next week and share it on our social networks. I assume you wouldn't mind having the photo featured like this, if it were to win. If for some reason you wouldn't want this, let me know right away and we'll remove it if you let me know before Friday. Also, it isn't necessary, but if you have any more information about the photo or the person,we would love to hear any stories or information that adds background. You can add the additional information in the comment box here underneath the photo. Thank you!

Hi Helen

I have just been in touch with Roger Heard regarding my Harman line. He sent me a copy of a letter in which it mentions hearing from Thomas and Anne in Nelson. It would seem that my records are incorrect. I am new to this site and unsure how to access your data

Hello Helen,

Re: Annie Fenton & Hartley Fowler

It's been a while since I've looked at Fig Tree and on the off chance I went on the site today and found that we are related!

Annie Fenton's Great Grandfather x 7 is Edward Fenton born in West Bromwich, England c. 1598; Edward is my Great Grandfather x 10.

I'm not certain of the best way to progress with this as I did attempt to send a private message but the site said my request was invalid??

I look forward to any future correspondence
