Thomas Furlong baptized 4 Feb 1803, the only child of James, a native of Ranangan, moved to Mayglass, and Elizabeth (Bent) Furlong. [1]

1845-1857 professor of Theology at Maynooth
1856 appointed Bishop of Ferns
established seminary in St Peter's college
