Margaret Fulton was an influential Australian food writer, journalist, and presenter. She was cookery editor of the Woman's Day and known for the best-selling book The Margaret Fulton Cookbook (1968).

Margaret Fulton OAM was born in Scotland.
Margaret Isobel Fulton was born at Nairn, Scotland, on the 6th or 10th of October, 1924,[1] the daughter of tailor Alexander Fulton and Isabella Roberts. The family migrated from Glasgow to Glen Innes, New South Wales, Australia, when she was two years old.

She married ex-soldier Trevor Price at the Manly Presbyterian Church in 1948.

They had one daughter together: Suzanne. The relationship broke down after about 2 years,

and she left him intending to go to England with her father, discovering that she was pregnant on the voyage. She returned to Australia and went to live with her sister Janet and brother-in-law, author William Hatfield on the Hawkesbury River.

Her second marriage was to Australian actor Denis Terence Joseph Doonan at Sydney in 1960.

They divorced in about 1979.

From about 1980 until his death from lung cancer in 1988, she was in a relationship with actor and director Michael McKeag (1930-1988), who she described as the love of her life.

She passed away at a retirement home in the NSW Southern Highlands on the 24th of July, 2019.[6]
Honours
1983: Medal of the Order of Australia In recognition of service to the media as a journalist and writer in the field of cookery. [10]
1986: 'Diploma of honour' from Comité Interprofessionnel du vin de Champagne "for her support to the cause of truce Champagne" [11]
1998: Declared an Australian Living Treasure by the National Trust of Australia
State memorial service held Monday, 9 September 2019 at the Art Gallery of New South Wales. [12]
In 2021, her 97th birthday was honored with a Google Doodle.
