Hi Mark, I found a passenger list from 1845 that shows what I believe to be Synneva and her parents. I've added the source record to Synneva's profile but I haven't added her parents yet.

We also know Synneva's Norwegian middle name is Eriksdatter (datter because she is female, not son).

Her Father is listed as Erik Mikkelson Meland which may be where the Mickelson came from on your grandmother. If that's the case, Erik's father would have been named Mikkel (Michael). Using this, I found several trees on Ancestry with more on this line.

Hey Mark,

Now that you have had a little time to try WikiTree, there are a few features you may find useful.

Ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards .

If you need to describe an event, heirloom or a location relevant to your research, try Free Space Profiles .

If you run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving these unfortunate situations.

A project of note is the Global Family Reunion check it out at Global Family Reunion.

Hi Mark, and welcome to WikiTree! You mentioned your ancestors in Ireland, Scotland, Wales and England. I wanted to let you know we have a great new project that focuses on the UK here called United Kingdom Project It includes our Scottish Clans Project , Wales Project and links to our Irish Roots Project They would be a great places for you to get involved once you have settled into WikiTree.

Got interested in genealogy after seeing the information my maternal grandfather's collected when I was a kid. He had a lot of information about when my maternal side (English, Scottish, Welsh) came to the US, so initially I set out to find out more information about my paternal side (German, Norwegian, & Irish) but now I'll research just about anything about my family.
